Between Edward Lounsbery of Marbletown in the County of Ulster and the State of New York by and with the consent of Janetje his wife signified by her Signing and Sealing these presents of the one part and John Lounsbery of the same place aforesaid of the other part

All that certain piece or parcell of land in the Town of Marbletown in the County of Ulster aforesaid on the Ridge being part of a lot of land formerly sold by Egbert Dumond of Kingston deceased late Sheriff of Ulster County, and is beginning on the North east corner of a lot of land formerly belonging to the late Alexander Monro late deceased and now in the possession of Evert C. Wynkoop and is running along the public highway North forty degrees and thirty minutes East eighty four feet then North fifty one degrees and ten minutes West to the top of the Hill then South forty nine degrees and thirty minutes West to the bounds of the land of the late Said Alexander Monro deceased now in the Said Evert C. Wynkoop's possession then along last Said bounds South forty degrees and about thirty minutes East to the first station or place of beginning being bounded Easterly by the public highway that leads from Kingston to Rochester Southerly by the Said Evert C. Wynkoop's possession and on all other sides by land of the Said Edward Lounsbery

NOTE: In 1797 the Library's annex building was owned by Cornelia Wyncoop and occupied by her son Evert C. Wyncoop and his wife Rachel Hardenbergh

IN CONSIDERATION OF TEN DOLLARS AND A LIKE RELEASE FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE SHARES OF JOHN LOUNSBERY'S PROPERTY

The fifth (share of John Lounsbery, Jr.) is the House and Lot, at present, and for Some Years past occupied by Ebenezer Lounsbery, lying on the Northwest Side of the old highway.

Beginning at the road opposite the East Corner of the Blacksmith Shop and in the South angle of a lot devised and bequeathed by John Lounsbery Unto Peter Lounsbery thence along the Same North forty nine Degrees fifteen minutes West eight Chains, thirteen links to a Stake thence South forty two Degrees thirty minutes West one Chain and four links to the bounds of Isaac S. Hasbrouck then along his bounds Southforty seven Degrees East eight Chains and thirteen links to the old highway and thence along the Same North forty two Degrees thirty minutes East one Chain thirty links to the place of beginning Containing one acre of land

NOTES

Dr. Isaac Severyn Hasbrouck and his wife, Matilda Barnes were the owners of the Library's annex building in 1840.

Ebenezer Lounsbery, the brother of John and Richard and the uncle of John Jr. received as part of his share the dwelling house of his deceased brother, John. The house was acquired by John Lounsbery in 1818 and is known locally as the Wynkoop-Lounsbery House.
