Mondays, Oct. 3, Nov. 7, Dec. 5,
3:30 - 5:00pm
Reader's Theater is an activity in which students, while reading directly from scripts, are able to tell a story in a most entertaining form, without props, costumes, or sets. This is a reading activity, and students are not asked to memorize their lines. They are, however, encouraged to "ham it up" and use intonation and gestures appropriate to their characters and their characters words. We expect to work on some speech skills, some acting skills, reading skills, and each time putting on a mini performance for our grown-ups. For students in grades 4 and up. Sign up using our new online Calendar.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

The Stone Ridge Library is excited to be taking part in the Mid-Hudson Library System's 7th annual Battle of the Books as part of our 2011 Summer Reading Program. Battle of the Books is a nationally recognized literature contest in which young people engage in friendly competition by answering trivia questions based on specific books that they have read.
Our own Stone Ridge Library team "The Popsicles" will be going to battle against 23 other MidHudson libraries this Saturday, September 10th. All participating teens and teams have read and studied the same eight books during the summer. They have done a phenomenal job preparing for the battle and we wish them much luck. Team members are: Silvie, Lizzy, Sasha, Stella, Maureen, Cree, Levi, Goldie, and Jarek.
