Preschool
Story Time

Tuesdays, 10 - 11am
October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2 & 9

Preschool Story Time will begin again with Deb Silverman. Bring your Preschooler to the Library for stories, songs, and crafts. It's a wonderful introduction to art, the library, and it's a great opportunity to meet other children.

After School Story Hours

We will take a look at clues, spies, and mysteries. We'll read some mysteries, learn the techniques used by spies and detectives, and create crafts.

A simple snack will be provided. Children coming from Marbletown Elementary School can take the squirrel bus.

Speak Up! Speak Out!
At our Speech Symposium.

Mondays, 3:30 - 5pm
October 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15 & 22

A workshop offered to teens 12 years and older. Our coach Debra Lundgren will be teaching an overview of public and competitive speaking, offering instruction on public speaking techniques, helping students choose an "event" (type of speaking), helping students find and prepare material, lead some practices, and set up a final "performance" of their speeches. An excellent opportunity for anyone who loves to get up in front of a group, as well as those who are reluctant.

Sewing Class

Wednesday, 3:30 - 4:30pm
October 13, November 10 & December 8

A Sewing Class for ages 9 and up will be offered once a month on Wednesdays. This group will get together to learn stitches, use simple patterns, practice using a needle and thread, and try simple sewing projects. Patience is required! All levels of sewing abilities welcomed.

Our Picture Book Party celebrates a different children's book character one Saturday each month. This program is available to anyone at any age who loves children's picture books and their characters. Have fun with stories, songs, and a simple craft.

Mystery Night

Friday, Nov. 12, 5 – 6:30pm
Grades 3 - 5

What is Wanda missing?
Will she find it in time?


Join your fellow detectives at the Stone Ridge Library in solving the mystery My Grandma's Gonna Kill Me! You must investigate the evidence scenes and carefully examine the evidence in order to solve the mystery. Detectives in grades 3-5 are welcome to attend. A light dinner will be served with donuts for all participating detectives.
