Thank you to Assemblyman Cahill for securing funds again this year for the libraries in his district to expand their summer reading programs. With this money we have been able to order additional equipment, order books specifically about mysteries and spies for all ages, as well as off setting the cost of some of our hired performers. We appreciate his support of the children and our libraries.

New Teen Space
Stop by the Library this summer to enjoy our new Teen Space. We will be moving the Young Adult collection into its own area with more shelf room for our ever increasing collection! We expect this space to include a table for studying and even a comfortable chair for reading. The Library will be very cool this summer if you're a teen.

Balloons in June
A Balloon Sculpting Workshop
June 1st at 5pm
for Teens and Tweens
ages 10 and up
Do you wish you knew how to twist, turn, and create fantastic balloon creations?
Then you should join us at the Library on June 1st at 5:00 for a special free balloon sculpting workshop with Terry Parrett.
After one hour with Terry during this free hands-on workshop you will have a wonderful new skill to use at parties, get togethers and more. This kind of thing looks great on a resume.
We would love to have anyone, who is attending this workshop, use their skills at our Annual Library Fair June 9th and make balloons for the children.

Get a Clue @ the library this summer with story hours, crafts, reading incentives, games and prizes. We will be using our summer to be detectives, investigate stories, look for clues and solve mysteries.

For our older readers grades 6 and up we offer an independent reading program with prizes and incentives to keep them reading during the summer! There are many ways to earn points towards prizes and cool incentives. Activities include anything from reading books to working on puzzles, to volunteering at programs for younger participants.

Interactive Mystery Night
July 6th, 6pm
ages 10 and up
Join the interactive mystery The Cracks in the Wall. The cracks in the foundation lead to a body. Is it the man who’s been missing for five years? And is it an accident … or murder? Join other detectives to discover the clues and see that justice is done. Participants must investigate the crime scenes and carefully examine the evidence in order to solve the crime.
This mystery is for detectives in grades 5 9. Dinner will be served during the introduction to the evenings proceedings. (Limit 15 participants)
Harry Potter Day

“Will Harry triumph over Voldemort?” “Is Snape good or bad?” These are Mysteries we’ve been waiting for J.K. Rowling to answer. It’s hard to wait, but the final book is almost here! Join other Harry Potter fans as we pass the time by having fun, creating crafts, and making predictions.

All you have to do sign-up, show up and … keep an open mind …
Mr. Beau the Clown

The mystery of the clown is unveiled when you see Pat Donohue’s transformations as he puts on his makeup and costume in front of everyone to become Mr. Beau. Then enjoy his juggling, joke telling, magic, slapstick, pantomime, puppetry and more!

During our annual tea party we will explore the mysteries of those rarely seen fairy princesses and fairy knights. While enjoying a light snack on our tea sets and using our best tea manners participants will partake in games, crafts and prizes during the party.
